Ever since I Was a boy, I’ve been struck by this aesthetic of making water more blue. In and of itself it’s lovely (in a somehow American way), but there is something odd in seeing the foam. I don’t know why.
Then again, people tell me I’m crazy.

I’m not sure what they added to make the water in this fountain so blue, but it worked. A few months after I shot this photo, another student group colored the water pink for a breast cancer fundraiser. That didn’t work nearly as well; for several days, I thought they’d put pink lemonade in the fountain. Ah, good times.
